Cultivating Compassionate Balance (CCB), adapted from Stanford University's Compassion Cultivation Training, is a unique blend of Taoist and Buddhist philosophies, contemporary psychology, and scientific research designed to help you become a better friend to yourself so you can become a better friend to others. You?ll learn how to: engage your inner critic with compassion by embracing acceptance for self and others; enhance vitality by recognizing and harmonizing with your body?s energy flow; reduce rumination by settling and focusing your mind; and learn techniques for communicating authentically and from the heart. Classes include meditation, lecture, discussion, in-class partner and small group listening and communication exercises, as well as audio recordings of thematic guided meditations. Amy Colvin has 20 years of Taoist meditation experience and has been facilitating meditation since 2011.
