Adventure Series to Obstruction Pass State Park

In 2025, we launched a seasonal Adventure Series designed to help people get outside and explore our beautiful backyard at an economical fare. Most Adventure Series trips are just $45 roundtrip for adults (a 50% savings from our standard fares), making non-ferry served island access more attainable for our community.

Our Adventure Series focuses on creating space for people to connect with the natural world: hiking island trails, picnicking on remote beaches, visiting marine state parks, and enjoying bird and wildlife observation through a “create your own adventure” format.

These trips are self-guided experiences - we provide the ride and the access, and you set the pace and plan your day. There’s no formal guide on site, giving you the freedom to explore the island on your own terms and craft an adventure that’s entirely your own.

Saturday, April 25th we will be heading to Obstruction Pass State Park on Orcas Island. This 76-acre marine park is home to one of the island’s few public beaches, offering a peaceful stretch of shoreline perfect for beachcombing, picnicking, and taking in the views across Obstruction Pass. Explore 1.8 miles of forested hiking trails, including a short interpretive loop that highlights the area’s unique geology, ecology, and cultural history. Whether you’re looking to stretch your legs or simply relax by the water, Obstruction Pass is a perfect island escape!

The boat will depart Skyline Marina at 11am with a 30-40 minute travel time to the island. The boat will pick up at Orcas Island at 2:15pm to return to Skyline Marina.
