Adventure Series to Burrows Island Lighthouse

In 2025, we launched a seasonal Adventure Series designed to help people get outside and explore our beautiful backyard at an economical fare. Most Adventure Series trips are just $45 roundtrip for adults (a 50% savings from our standard fares), making non-ferry served island access more attainable for our community.

Our Adventure Series focuses on creating space for people to connect with the natural world: hiking island trails, picnicking on remote beaches, visiting marine state parks, and enjoying bird and wildlife observation through a “create your own adventure” format.

Saturday, April 11th we will be heading to Burrows Island Lighthouse. A docent from the Northwest Schooner Society will guide you through the Burrows Island Light Station – sharing stories of the keepers who lived in isolation, kept the light burning, and watching over these busy waters for more than a century. You will step inside the buildings, wander the headland, and soak up the views that few get to see. Pack a picnic, and enjoy lunch overlooking the strait – watching ships and wildlife move through the strait just as the keepers once did.

The boat will depart Skyline Marina at 11am with a 15 minute travel time to the island. The boat will pick up at Burrows Island at 2:15pm to return to Skyline Marina.
