Workshop: How to Fail Successfully! We all fail at some point in life whether in professional or personal settings. In this workshop students will learn steps to effectively handle failures to include addressing emotions and taking steps to successfully move forward. The instructor will discuss the stages of failure: pre-failure, initial, short term, then long term. Students will learn the importance of accepting failure, learning from it, and moving forward with adjusted plans. This workshop is not meant to coddle, but rather analyze a situation and identify ways forward. It will be professionally focused, but the tactics could be applied to personal goals. Knowing how to fail successfully could be the edge you need to accomplish your career goals. Instructor: Catherine Torres graduated from the US Air Force Academy in 2009 with a BS in English. She garnered management experience working as an Air Force Airfield Operations Officer (AOF) from 2009-2014. During that time Catherine supervised more than 95 civilian and military members at one of the Air Force's busiest airfields. For her final assignment she taught air traffic control and airfield management concepts at the AOF technical school. During this time she also completed a MA in Humanities from the American Military University. Presently, Catherine works as a freelance writer and business marketing consultant specifically in social media marketing. Her portfolio includes web content for a bridal boutique, articles for a financial advising firm, and marketing and grant writing for the Anacortes Food Co-op. She lives in Anacortes, WA with her husband.
