Event Description:
The Whales are Coming! For our first lecture in our 2017 Lecture Series, please come to hear about research and insights on Northwest Coast Humpback, Blue, and Gray Whales and their occurrence in our waters. Some whale species now use Salish Sea waters more frequently than in the past and in ways we had not realized. Research biologist John Calambokidis of Cascadia Research Collective, Olympia, Wa., will discuss new research, including feeding and other behaviors, to explore their underwater behavior and why some are coming here.
