Join facilitator Amy Colvin for an 8-week Cultivating Compassionate Balance series, and learn to cultivate acceptance and compassion for self, as well as others.
Description: Compassionate Balance is a way of living that encompasses acceptance and compassion for self as well as for others, both at home and out in the world. It is a choice to embrace kindness and leave criticism and judgment to the side. It is strengthening our resilience in times of trouble. It is the recognition that peace and compassion can be cultivated.
Cultivating Compassionate Balance (CCB) is a Unique Blend of Contemplative Traditions to Help You:
• Engage your inner critic with compassion by embracing acceptance for self and others
• Release mental or emotional blocks by moving toward peace and creativity while dissolving anxiety and depression
• Enhance vitality through moving meditation (walking, qi gong, mudra)
• Reduce rumination by settling and focusing your mind, expanding awareness of the current moment
• Communicate authentically and from the heart
• Strengthen your ability to be present and resilient in the face of difficulty
Course includes:
• Instruction of meditation techniques including: breath focus meditation, mudra meditation, guided meditation, and qi gong
• Large group discussion around a variety of themes related to acceptance and compassion for self and others
• Small group/pair exercises pertaining to the week’s theme
• Guided meditation audio tracks for you to keep & listen to in order to help you deepen your practice
* 16 Continuting Ed hours for massage practitioners and nurses
